Eeeek virus thing??!

Yesterday I was on H2B's laptop and I clicked something on the forum and this virus thing came up trying to download a virus run, its just happened again on the forum on the computer I use at work, has it happened to anyone else? x

Maybe its just me, just weird it happened twice on 2 different computers, I just knocked the thing up that it brought up and it hasnt happened again x

What does the virus run thing say? x

Its one of those viruses that tell you you have something bad on your computer so they need to do a run but obviously if you let them thats a virus in itself x

Annoyingly its probably something to do with the bloody advertising. One of them probably has a virus attached

This advertising thing does get on my nerves - but iam guessing there is no way we can stop that? x

As long as you don't let it run the computer should be fine. It's a form of malware. It scares people by telling them they have a virus, so they let it do the "scan", but that's how a virus gets in, when there was nothing wrong with the system in the first place! Don't let it run. You should run some sort of adware and malware detecting software. If you have an antivirus program, run it, because that might pick it up.

Yeah thats what we did on lap top yesterday Charlie, seemed fine and didnt seem to pick anything up, sneeky buggers! x

As long as you don't let it run, it should be fine. But you will keep getting the warning message pop up every so often unless you detect what's doing it and remove it. It gets very annoying after a while! x
