why are weddings so darn stressful?!
Hi ladies
So after i lay awake for what seemed like 5 hours from about 2am this morning, worrying about this blinkin' wedding, thought i'd ask you all where you all are with yours. I'd like to say I worry about the money side of it, but i dont. We both have good jobs, so the money side isn't a problem. I think its because if i wasn't in my current job I'd be a party planner.......people say my parties are the best!
I get married on November 27th, so its MONTHS away, but every now and then (like last night) i have a major stress-head about the whole thing for no aparent reason. I work with 95% men in the construction industry, so they all had their weddings planned by their other halves (no help whatsoever!)
So far i have got a dress on order (comes into the shop in July), 3 bridesmaid dresses hung in my wardrobe, got my shoes, a venue, have given notice, booked photographer, booked florist.
Am i missing something?

Re: why are weddings so darn stressful?!
You are around the same time as me (ish) Iam the 22nd of December!
I think itis natural to worry about the wedding regarles if you have money for it or not.
My partner is the same, at the mo he'd rather spend the weddings funds on pointless stuff that we dont need like sky vision or trips to London - its so annoying and frustrating knowing iam paying and planning this wedding on my own
It sounds as if you are up to together on most things...you have the main stuff which is the most importanat stuff, the dress, flowers, venues, BM dresses, tog etc etc, have you thought about your entertainment and table decoration yet?
I think iam up together - but iam prob not, iam trying to take 1 weeks break from the planning when things get too much - having to work full time and look after my small daughter and 2 step kids i cant allow for the wedding to overtake my life.
Prehaps chat to your h2b, explain how you are feeling, asking him subltly to help, maybe he feels like he is cluless and dosent know how to help? Prehaps give him a small list of blokey weddingly things to sort out, Like the suits etc! It will all come together hun, we are all in the same boat and always here of you want to chat xxxx

Hi, you sound just like me! I love parties and planning, I actually think that would be my dream job, all of my friends laugh at my obsession with list making and that my parties are always the best haha, maybe we should have a party off! The same again money is not too much of an issue, going abroad helps as its working out so much cheaper but I also get nights some times where I just panic, maybe it has something to do with people saying I throw good parties and the wedding is the most major one of all and I just want it to be perfect.
Have you started looking at rings? Jewelry for you and BMs etc? Or underwear/nightwear for yourself (I am having a real pain finding mine) x

Re: why are weddings so darn stressful?!
I keep asking H2B to book his stag do, but between his 2 best men and 1 usher, 2 of them are best men for other friends who get married in June, so we kind of have to wait till after theirs. H2B's suits are kind of sorted as they are coming from either Next or Debenhams. We're buying not renting, so we are waiting until September to get them. I think (I must check the quote) that my florist is doing the table decorations! With regards entertainment, i believe the venue are getting us a dj. I would love to have a live band, but we cant afford them (£150,000.00!) And no, i cant tell you who they are as its pretty embarassing!
Just remembered we have booked my hen do! Very excited about that, and we have also booked our honeymoon. I just have to work out how I'm going to get through 2 weeks without seeing my son!!!!
H2B helps when I ask, but I'm my own worst enemy and dont ask!!! We have started looking at rings. I had a meeting in London on friday so popped to Hatton Gardens and now I'm waiting for a price. I blame H2B for thhis problem!!! He designed me a beautiful marquise cut platinum engagement ring and to get one that matches is just ridiculous money! I refuse to go over my budget of £800 for both rings.
I think sometimes a little bit of reassurance goes a long way! Phew! I'm feeling better already

with regards to bridesmaid jewellry they are having primark pearl earrings, no necklace and a miss selfridge pearl bracelet! thats the price they are paying for making me over spend on their dresses!!! My budget was £600 for everything and their dresses alone came in at £527.00.
