Yay, my mum and dad are brilliant!
I'm so chuffed, we have been looking at holidays, but are still a bit skint after the wedding. We didn't have a honeymoon as we got married in Cyprus but the way it worked out we came home the day after the wedding, the plan had been that hubby and I would get away for a week on our own and the wee guy would stay with my mum and dad, but cos mum took ill in January we weren't able to do that, anyway, I was having a chat with dad today and he asked what were doing for a holiday this year and I told him we weren't doing anything cos we couldn't afford it, so my brill dad has told me just to book something and he will pay for it as well as keeping the wee man for us, yay, I would feel a bit bad about going away for a week without my son, so am looking at city breaks and there are loads of decent deals (don't want to take the piss out of dad and book somewhere outrageous, lol) just need to decide where and when and convince hubby that there's nothing wrong with accepting an offer like that from my parents!!!!! We also have a £200 Thomson voucher which we would put towards it
Any suggestions for where is nice for a couple of days in September? Woohoo

Oh thats really good of them!
I would look for a city break too, maybe Rome, Paris, Milan... Think capital cities lol! If you are happy to book hotels and flight seperately it would be even cheaper. I costed up flights to Italy for me and h2b next year for £8 each person!

Oooooh, bargain! we had a chat about it last night and are now thinking along the lines of a cabin up Aberfoyle/Callander way, or anywhere really for a couple of nights, I've seen some fab looking ones with hot tubs on the decking, lol, I think city breaks are too busy for the state of mind I'm in just now and being hidden away in the woods for a few days seems more appealing at the moment, especially if it's somewhere that we can just jump in the car and be there in an hour or so, so I'm googling that just now!

That's so lovely, and I'd agree - something relaxing to re-charge the batteries would be fantastic: A city break can end up being fun but exhausting if it's a honeymoon extra than you need to just relax together and enjoy some space

I'm looking at this one just now, I had been looking a bit closer to home, but Dumfermline isn't that far and the prices seem to be good for this one

This looks amazing, but very expensive

thanks, I hink it looks nice and relaxing, I'm now trying to convince hubby that a couple of days chilling out would be better than a city break-he wants to go to Copenhagen which is somewhere I'd love to go as well, but I just don't have the energy for a city break just now!

Ooooh you have got me googling now too! Ive been looking for one 'up north', like Fort William or further. Never thought to look Dumfries or anywhere else!
I prefer the second one, but just cos I know its more expensive First one looks great though, hot tub looks amazing!

There are some nice ones in the borders and round Stranraer way as well Zeps, I'm hoping to find something about an hour away from Glasgow so we can just chuck stuff in the car and go and be somewhere nice quickly, really can't be bothered with flights and hanging about airports etc, but hubby doesn't think it's a real holiday without all that hassle
