a challenge for arty farty design types!

I need some help. I have been looking for some free vectors to put on my invitations etc. and thought that an indian style design would look good as a border type thing?

We are having moroccan lanterns as centrepieces and going to sri lanka and the maldives for our honeymoon and I thought it would kind of tie in nicely.


I am having trouble finding the kind of design for free that's of good enough quality.
I was thinking along these sorts of lines...




What do you think? Can you recommend anywhere to download these types of things from?

I can do the below as big as you want?

oooh really... do you think it will look right? I love the idea but don't want it to look too themey or out of place on the OOS in the church!

Ok confession here, my invites... I found a design (not an invite) I liked, tweaked it and re drew it myself

find something you love, maybe 2 different things and get doodling on paper with ideas you like and come up with an idea by hand

Nit very arty so cant add anything, but would justlike to say, loving your moroccan/indian style theme! Its beautiful And kr15 - very clever girly x

I have illustrator which is much better for these kind of things, let me know if you want a hand

And if anyone is interested, this is what I came up with for my invites (not sure if I'll change them now...) which was hand drawn (well using a mouse and a drawing programme) by moi

I have seen Illustrator but never been able to get a copy.. I shall persevere with my little old photoshop and graphics pad for the time being but will shout if I need any assistance!!!

Oooh you use a graphics pad? Never been any good at them, lol.

I really liked the design with the hanging heart, have you chosen a colour scheme yet?

yeah H2B got me one a few years ago, takes a bit of getting used to!!

Our colour scheme is turquoise with a hint of dark purple, ivory and grey (for the suits).

Am going to try again with the design idea... fingers crossed it works...
